He has operated at board level and in senior HR leadership roles within diverse sectors and businesses, leading the development and implementation of relevant HR strategies. The global nature of these roles has given him insights into a wide range of organisations and cultures. His experience includes:
- as Group HR Director playing a leading role in creating a global joint venture between Smith and Nephew plc and Beiersdorf ag, developing and then implementing people strategies to deliver profitable growth through M&A, performance improvement, and the development of capabilities and culture.
- as HR Director delivering a demanding HR agenda required by the development of Thames Water into a major international services plc.
- a range of HR and Employee Relations roles within diverse Unilever businesses in the UK, Africa and Europe - in transport, shipping, manufacturing and services.
Steve has lived and worked in Europe, Africa, Asia and India, is a graduate of Southampton University and the LSE, and a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD.
He now works as a consultant providing support to businesses and organisations in the development and implementation of their HR agendas, particularly in times of transformation and change, and in coaching and supporting managers at all levels to enhance their capabilities and contribution.
